Principal's Message
Dear Students, Parents and Community Members,
Asalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
My name is Adnan Jalali and I am the new Principal at Iqra Academy. I am extremely happy to be here and join the wonderful Muslim community of St. Croix. I have over a decade of experience in education and have worked in charter, private, public and international schools. Alhamdulillah, I completed my Bachelor's Degree from Texas State University and completed my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston. I hold both a teacher's and principal's license from the state of Texas, Alhamdulillah.
I am so excited about this upcoming school year! The school board and I have been working diligently this summer to build a dynamic team of educators, in order to move Iqra Academy to the forefront of Islamic education in the Western Hemisphere. The team of teachers that we have assembled is world class! More importantly, we are all united in trying to provide the best education for our children, so that they may be successful in this life and the next.
This school year will be full of new and fresh activities, ceremonies, community events, competitions, school trips and more. With that being said, a school can only become great when amazing things are happening in the classrooms. Therefore, the main focus of the school staff will be providing dynamic and innovative lessons and incorporating highly effective and research-based teaching strategies in the classroom. In order to accomplish this goal, the staff will take part in weekly professional development sessions. This is, as they say, just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many more wonderful changes occurring at Iqra Academy.
I firmly believe that it will take a committed effort by teachers, students, administrators, parents and community members all united under the banner of La illaha ilallah Muhammad ar Rasulullah to accomplish our goals. I invite you to join our winning team, so that we can all achieve success together!
I ask Al Haadi (The One who Guides) to guide all of us.
I ask Ar Rahmaan (The Most Merciful) to shower His Mercy upon us.
I ask al Kareem (The Most Generous) to bless our school, the community and the believers. Ameen.
Sincerely,
Adnan Jalali M.Ed.
